The Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) protects people in England and Wales who may not have the mental capacity to make certain decisions for themselves, such as about their health and finance. We register lasting powers of attorney documents and supervise deputyships.
Brixton Advice Centre promotes access to justice through the provision of high quality legal advice, assistance and representation to people who would otherwise be unable to afford legal services. Advice is provided on debt and money issues, welfare benefits and housing problems. A pro bono legal advice clinic is also provided every second Thursday evening staffed by solicitors and barristers (see website for details: https://brixtonadvice.org.uk/thursday-evening-clinic/)
